Bad Day

Oct 12, 2019

Let's talk about negative emotion.

Some days I literally want to crawl into bed, pull over the covers or devour something salty, crunchy or sweet.

I get so Agitated, Grumpy, Moody and Self critical.

The worst part is that it has a really permanent feel about it. Like nothing is ever going to go right again. As if you can never turn this around.

2 years of having a coach and 12 months of learning to be a coach and these days still happen.

It's important to know that you still get 50:50 good and bad even when you are fulfilling your dreams and working towards your goals.

Today was one of those days. Pouty, Moody, Cranky. Full of Self-doubt and Self-criticism.

I had NOTHING to be mad or sad about. I have an amazing husband but all I could do was be grouchy. My big kiddo came home from Calgary today - still Agitated and Self-centered. Puppies to cuddle - nope, still not feeling good.

There's a Thanksgiving social supper tonight and I am making myself go. I would rather stay here in bed in my empty house (boys hunting and big Kiddo out socializing) but if I stay home I will just beat myself up for not doing that to do list and spin some more in negative emotion.

The important thing to remember is that it is not permanent. You have been here before and you know if doesn't last forever. You can jump right in where you were before when you start to feel better.

What can you do to feel just a tiny bit better. Soothe yourself with a quiet comfy space. Remind yourself that it is possible to feel better. Ask yourself - "how can I help you?" "What do you need?"

Ask yourself to do just one thing at a time. Be proud of yourself for tiny steps through this blackout.
